Bag2School Fundraising Scheme

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the relationship between Bag2School ("we", "us","our") and any school, organisation, charity, business, or community group ("Participant", "you") that registers for or takes part in the Bag2School fundraising scheme.

By registering with Bag2School or participating in a collection, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

Bag2School is operated by Next Best Clothing Limited, registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is: Unit 7 Omega Business Village, Thurston Road, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, DL6 2NJ.

2. The Bag2School Scheme

Bag2School is a free eco-friendly fundraising scheme that allows organisations to raise funds through the collection and recycling of unwanted textiles. The scheme works as follows:

The Participant registers online or by telephone to arrange a collection event.
Bag2School provides free collection bags and promotional materials to assist with fundraising.
On the agreed collection date, a Bag2School driver collects the filled bags from the Participant's premises.
The collected textiles are weighed and a payment isissued to the Participant based on the weight collected and the applicable rate per kilogram at the time of collection.
Collected textiles are sold to wholesalers and importers internationally for reuse, supporting the circular economy.

3. Payment Rates & Price Fluctuations

3.1 Current Rate

Our standard published rate is currently 10p per kilogram (£100 per tonne) of accepted textiles collected. This rate is reviewed regularly and is subject to change.

3.2 Price Fluctuations — Important Notice

The payment rate offered by Bag2School is directly linked to the global second-hand textile market. This market is subject to significant external pressures including, but not limited to:

International armed conflicts and geopolitical instability affecting export routes and destination markets.
Global supply chain disruptions impacting textile logistics and import/export conditions.
Changes in demand from our international wholesale partners in Eastern Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Increased freight, transport, and operational costs resulting from global market conditions.
Regulatory changes in destination countries affecting imports of second-hand textiles.

As a result of these factors, Bag2School reserves the right to adjust its payment rates at any time and without prior notice. The rate applicable to your collection will be the rate in effect on the date your collection takes place, which may differ from the rate advertised at the time of your initial registration or booking.

3.3 Rate Confirmation

If you wish to confirm the rate that will apply to your upcoming collection, please contact us no earlier than 5 working days before your scheduled collection date. We will endeavour to provide the most up-to-date rate available at that time, though we cannot guarantee this rate will remain unchanged up to and including the collection date.

3.4 No Minimum Guaranteed Rate

Bag2School does not guarantee a minimum payment rate. In exceptional circumstances where global market conditions make it unviable to offer a positive payment per kilogram, we will communicate this to registered Participants as promptly as possible.

4. Accepted & Non-Accepted Items

Payment is made only for textiles that meet Bag2School's quality and eligibility criteria. We accept:

Adult and children's clothing (all seasons)
Paired shoes (tied together or in bags)
Handbags, belts, and accessories
Bedding, towels, and curtains
Soft toys and soft furnishings

We are unable to accept or pay for the following:

Wet, damp, or mouldy items
Soiled, torn, or damaged clothing
Duvets, pillows, or sleeping bags
Carpets, rugs, or hard furnishings
Electrical items or household goods
Any items not listed on our "What We Collect" page at www.bag2school.com

Non-accepted items found in collected bags will be excluded from the weighed total. Bag2School reserves the right to dispose of rejected items appropriately and at our discretion.

5. Collection Arrangements

Collections must be booked in advance through our website or by contacting our office. The following conditions apply:

Collections are available Monday to Friday, subject to driver availability in your area.
Collections generally take place between 9:00am and 1:00pm on the agreed date.
All bags should be made available at the agreed collection point before 9:00am on the collection date.
Bag2School accepts no liability for bags stored outdoors if they become wet. Wet textiles cannot be resold and will be excluded from weighing.
In the event of inclement weather, bags should be covered with a plastic sheet or stored undercover.
We reserve the right to reschedule collections due to driver availability, vehicle issues, or circumstances outside our control, including severe weather.

6. Payment Terms

Payment is calculated based on the total weight of accepted textiles collected, multiplied by the applicable rate per kilogram on the date of collection.

In some areas, payment is issued by cheque within 5-20 working days of the collection.
In some areas, a bank transfer is made 5-20 working days of the collection.
Payment is made payable to the registered organisation name provided at the time of registration. Please ensure all registration details are accurate.
Bag2School is not liable for delays in payment caused by incorrect banking or postal details provided by the Participant.
Payment queries must be raised within 30 days of the collection date.

7. Participant Obligations

By participating in the Bag2School scheme, you agree to:

Promote your collection event responsibly and in line with Bag2School's guidelines and brand materials.
Ensure that only eligible items are submitted for collection and that donors are made aware of what can and cannot be accepted.
Ensure a responsible adult is present or available at the collection point on the agreed date.
Not misrepresent the Bag2School scheme, including making claims about payment rates that have not been confirmed by Bag2School inwriting.
Comply with any applicable GDPR and data protection obligations when collecting contact details from donors or supporters.

8. Cancellation & Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule a collection, please contact us as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours before the scheduled collection date. Failure to cancel with adequate notice may affect our abilityto offer you future collections.

Bag2School reserves the right to cancel or suspend collections with any Participant at our sole discretion, including where we believe these Terms have been breached.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

Bag2School is not liable for any loss of income or anticipated fundraising revenue arising from price fluctuations, cancelled collections, or external market conditions.
Bag2School is not liable for any loss, damage, or theft of donated goods prior to collection by our driver.
Bag2School's total liability to any Participant in connection with the scheme shall not exceed the total amount paid to that Participant in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Data Protection & Privacy

Bag2School processes personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. By registering with us, you agree to the processing of your organisation's contact details for the purpose of administering your collections and communicating relevant information about the scheme.

11. Amendments to These Terms

Bag2School reserves the right to update or amend these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be published on our website at www.bag2school.com. Continued participation in the scheme following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

We encourage Participants to review these Terms periodically, particularly before booking new collections.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
